Our experienced Fleet Team has in-depth engineering knowledge of our assets.

Each fleet has a dedicated engineer responsible for ensuring that day-to-day engineering and performance delivers on our customer expectations. This includes management of safety issues and reliability, as well as root cause analysis should problems occur.

With our whole-life technical view of our assets, our Fleet Engineers are committed to the identification of design solutions that keep our trains performing throughout their service life. They are also responsible for the professional management of engineering changes that are undertaken on our vehicles.

To support the Fleet Engineers, our Standards Team maintains a detailed technical library and manages the authoring, validation and issuing of updates to technical documentation and drawings.

The technical expertise provided by the Fleet Team supports our customers with technical investigations and heavy maintenance program development – but the team’s expertise is not confined solely to in-house activities. Members of the team participate in industry forums, helping to foster a cross-industry understanding of issues and contributing to the improvement of the rail industry as a whole.
