About the role:

As our Assistant Tax Manager, you will work closely with our Senior Tax Managers to manage our internal compliance function. The role will primarily focus on corporation tax but also cover VAT and employment taxes on a regular basis. You will also assist with a healthy amount of project work, under the guidance of our Senior Tax Managers, and support the wider business with any tax related queries as and when required. If you currently working within a consultancy environment and keen to start an in-house career, then this could be the role for you.

What will you be doing?

  • Preparing tax computations for thirteen UK tax resident companies, within two UK tax groups.
  • Ensuring tax compliance for our recent joint venture. This will include VAT returns and computation submissions for a further seven entities.
  • Overseeing tax compliance for overseas entities, including reviewing any outsourced work.
  • Preparing and submitting PAYE Settlement Agreements and other employment taxes.
  • Assisting with tax reporting and modelling as part of our management accounts.
  • Assisting with monthly, quarterly and year end work as well as liaising with auditors.
  • Working with the Senior Tax Managers to ensure tax compliance for all our current and upcoming diversification projects.

What do we need from you?

  • ATT qualified.
  • CTA part/newly qualified (we are also happy to consider applicants from an ACA background with suitable equivalent experience.
  • A solid understanding of UK corporation tax and VAT compliance.
  • Experience within a Top 20 external tax consultancy or equivalent experience in-house already.
  • Excellent MS Excel skills and ideally experience using Alphatax computation software.
